Multi-dimensional programs for young adults, adults, and families, where program support goes well beyond a bed, so that those receiving services can develop a sense of independence and a belief in themselves and their future.

WHAT WE DO

The Supportive Housing model emphasizes community integration by placing tenants in diverse neighborhoods throughout New York City, allowing them to build connections and engage with their local communities. This approach not only enhances their sense of belonging but also promotes social inclusion and reduces stigma associated with homelessness.

The tenants within our Supportive Housing program face unique challenges. Our team employs motivational interviewing techniques to engage individuals collaboratively and respectfully. We encourage individuals to identify their own goals and aspirations, fostering a sense of agency and ownership over their journey. By providing tailored support and resources, we help tenants navigate their challenges and work towards achieving lasting stability and personal fulfillment in their lives.

Access to a range of supportive services, such as mental health care, substance abuse treatment, job training, and life skills education are provided within this program. These resources help tenants address underlying issues that may have contributed to their homelessness, promoting recovery and self-sufficiency.

WHO WE SUPPORT

Our various programs support adults 18+, including those transitioning from foster care, homeless shelters, state psychiatric hospitals, and state prisons throughout New York City.

WHY WE ARE HERE

Young adults, adults, and families entering Supportive Housing want to be able to stop worrying, stop fighting obstacle after obstacle. We cannot remove and solve everything, but our programming can provide a number of key supports: (1) stability and security, (2) access to resources, and (3) community integration and inclusion.

By addressing the immediate need for safe housing, individuals can focus on other aspects of their lives, such as employment, education, and health, without the constant stress of homelessness or housing instability. Resources, such as mental health care, substance abuse treatment, and job training help tenants address underlying issues that may have contributed to their homelessness, promoting recovery and self-sufficiency. Deliberate placement in diverse neighborhoods allows for the development of social connections. Inclusion helps reduce stigma, promotes social cohesion, and enhances the overall quality of life for tenants, allowing them to participate fully in society.
