Introducing Olivia Mazyck, Our 2025 Youth of the Year
Heartshare’s 2025 Youth of the Year, Olivia Mazyck, has faced every challenge with strength and grace. Her path from foster care to college is a story of courage, healing, and hope. At our Fall Benefit, we celebrated how far she’s come—and how far she’ll go.

Empowering Lives Through Meaningful Employment
In celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we sat down with two members of Heartshare’s Employment Program to offer a direct perspective from our community about the impact of meaningful employment.

Celebrating our Impact: Heartshare’s 2024 Impact Report
This year, Heartshare continued to make a significant impact in the communities we support. These accomplishments reflect our founding pledge to unlock the potential of every single New Yorker and create a brighter, more inclusive future for all.

Building What’s Next
Set out on a quest to support his brother, a survivor of Willowbrook, a state-run institution for people with disabilities that, infamously, did more harm than good, Allan B Goldstein, now Senior Lecturer at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, develops new technologies with students and Heartshare participants to bridge the gaps between the impossible and the possible.

Banding Together One Bracelet at a Time
What started as a mission by Heartshare teacher Rachel Kramer to keep her student Ashlly’s hands busy very quickly became a fully-fledged operation. Now fulfilling hundreds of orders, students in this classroom store have uncovered more than the simple art of bracelet-making; they’ve also developed essential lessons about vocational skills.
