Join the team to fight for the underestimated of New York City.

This work is important
Heartshare is a human services agency that steps up and steps in for those who society has too often overlooked and ignored. Staff at every level of the organization play a crucial role in helping to lift up those who we support. Together, we help children and adults across New York City learn, heal, grow, and thrive. We are looking for team members who want to contribute to the betterment of society — who believe that everyone deserves a voice and a chance. Heartshare employees help give the people in our programs that loudspeaker and that doorway to a better future.
a human, NEW YORK STORY
For over 150 years, Heartshare has been a bedrock of the New York City community. We began in Brooklyn, but now have program sites across Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. Our programs and services extend into Manhattan and the Bronx. Every corner of the City is touched by the people of Heartshare. We are New Yorkers through and through. And because of that, we not only take care of those we support, but we pride ourselves in caring for our staff. From benefits to career growth opportunities, from workplace culture to access to wellness — we are building a thriving, best-in-class workforce.
SUPPORTING TWO KEY POPULATIONS
We support two specific populations across all of New York City: children and adults with developmental disabilities; and children and families dealing with the trauma associated with family separation. Each population faces its own distinct set of challenges and obstacles — and we are set up accordingly to meet them with understanding, evidence-based solutions, and interconnected programming. Our back office positions work to support both focus areas, while our program-based roles are specialized based on the population served.
